Bodega Marqués de Velilla was established in 1985, and is owned by the Hernández de Mercado Family. The winery is based in La Horra, Burgos, and has 150 hectares of their own vineyards (88% Tempranillo, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Malbec and Merlot).

María Pinacho has been the winemaker for more than 20 years. The winemaking philosophy here is to combine traditional winemaking with modern tools and technology.
