Bodegas Conde de San Cristóbal

Bodegas Conde de San Cristóbal was established in 2001, as part of the Marqués de Vargas Family Vineyards & Cellars project in Ribera. The winery was built in the middle of the 80 hectare Pago de Valdestremero property, an estate with a long winegrowing history in the “Golden Mile” of Ribera del Duero.

Conde (Count) of San Cristóbal is one of the noble titles of D. Pelayo de la Mata (the owner and president of the winery). The winery specialises in single-estate wines made from Tempranillo. The fruit is hand harvested and aged in French oak barrels from seven different cooperages. The winemaking team is led by Jorge Peique and the winery is currently undergoing organic conversion.
