Bodegas Vega de Yuso was established in 2002 by Ruben Iglesias Barredo, the current owner and winemaker. The winery is located in Quintanilla de Onesimo in the province of Valladolid, which lies 21 km from Peñafiel.

Vega de Yuso currently has 20 hectares of Tempranillo vineyards nestled in the best sites of Quintanilla de Onesimo, Olivares De Duero and Valbuena de Duero. The altitude can reach 900m here and the vines are low-yielding, with parcels of 50 year old vines. The soil types found here and the high altitude are central to the winemaking at Bodegas Vega de Yuso.
