Bodegas Vizcarra

Bodegas Vizcarra is located in Mambrilla de Castrejon, a small village in the province of Burgos, one of the highest areas of Ribera Del Duero with an altitude of 850m. The winery was established in 1991 by oenologist Juan Carlos Vizcarra Ramos, son of one of Ribera’s winegrowing pioneers, José Manuel Vizcarra Aguado.

The winery has 65 hectares planted mainly to Tempranillo, with some plantings of Merlot, Albillo and Garnacha. The winery also does micro-vinifications from old parcels. Harvest is always done by hand and fruit is meticulously selected before being destemmed. The focus of the winery is to achieve the best results in the vineyards, so careful viticulture lies at the heart of the winemaking philosophy.
