Dominio de Bornos was founded in 1988 by the Mexican-based Gonzalez family (who also own Bodegas Lleiroso in Ribera). The winery is part of a group of wineries with estates in six different Spanish regions. The winery is based in Pesquera de Duero and has long term contracts with local vineyard owners, allowing them to be very involved with vineyard management.

They have a production of around 100,000kg of grapes, and exclusively work with Tempranillo. Since 2019 the winemaker is Víctor Fernández, who also makes wine at the Lleiroso winery. The winery releases two wines: a Roble and a Crianza, and vinifies the wines in American and French oak.
