RIBERA DEL DUERO
Wineries seeking representation

Bodega Cooperativa Virgen de la Asunción
Bodega Cooperativa Virgen de la Asunción was established in 1957; making it one of the 12 oldest wineries in Ribera del Duero. Based in La Horra, Burgos, the winery is owned by 100 different families and has 325 hectares under vine in the “Golden Triangle” of Ribera. The winery releases wines under the cooperative label, as well as the Ricardo Dumas brand.
Here the vines grow at an altitude of 800-850m, in calcareous clay and stony soils. The majority of the wines are bush vines and over half are 50+ years old, with several parcels dating back to 1900. The harvests are always done by hand. The winery produces a number of different styles, from young fruit-forward wines, to old vine cuvées that see more oak ageing.
