Bodegas Marta Maté is owned by four partners – Manuel, Nacho, César and Marta. The winery and some of their vineyards are located in Tubilla del Lago, Burgos, a town in the very north of the D.O. at an altitude of 930m.

The winery has 10 hectares of 30 year old vines in Tubilla del Lago, with an additional 7 hectares of centennial vines. They also have a 27 hectare site in Gumiel de Mercado where they apply biodynamic farming methods. The vineyards are planted to Tempranillo, Albillo, Garnacha and Merlot. César Maté is the winemaker and Manuel del Rincón the viticultural technician. The wines are fermented in concrete tanks and aged in 300-600 litre barrels. The winery is dedicated to organic farming and low sulphur usage.
