The Fuentespina winery was founded in 1994, and is owned by the Avelino Vegas family who have been making wine since 1950 in Rueda. 
The winery is located in the village of Fuentespina, Burgos, and the grapes come from Sinovas, Aranda and Fuentecen. Fuentespina controls about 500 hectares of Tempranillo vines with an average age of 35 years.

The grapes from some of their 80 year old vineyards are used for their premium wines such as F de Fuentespina. The winemaker is Jose Manuel Corrales. The wines are fermented in stainless steel and aged in French and American oak barrels. They release five wines under the Fuentespina brand: 3 Meses, Crianza, Seleccion, Reserva and F de Fuentespina.
