About The Event
10:00 -18:30
The Winegrowers of the appellation and some key members of the Plaimont team will show you microvinification of rare, long-lost grape varieties that they have been researching for future use and for use in blends. In addition, a pre-phylloxera cuvee of Tannat will be shown.
This open pour tasting will showcase these rare cuvees as well as the Plaimont Wines from AOC Saint Mont, AOC Pacherenc de Vic Bilh, AOC Madrian and IGP COte de Gascogne, which are all available in the UK market.
There will be two masterclasses held on the day, to taste the unique and experimental wines:
15:00 - 16:30
Dr Jamie Goode, Nandine Raymond: Technical controller of Plaimont and Olivier Bourdet-Pees: General Manager, will present a masterclass on the indigenous and long-lost grapes of the South West.
17:00 - 18:30
Christine Cabri: Oenologist for the Grands Vins de Plaimont, will present a blending masterclass with single vinifications of Gros Manseng, Petit Courbu adn Arrufiac, highlighting their unique characteristics.
From 18:30 - 20:30, there will be drinks and South West delicacies.
