UK Master of Port: Virtual Masterclass & Test

Westbury would like to invite you to take part in the UK’s first Master of Port competition. We are thrilled to be working with the IVDP (Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto) to bring this prestigious competition to UK sommeliers for the first time.

About The Event
How does it work?
First round: Virtual masterclass and tasting (see below for option of two different dates), followed by an online multiple choice test to be held on the 15th November. Top ten scorers will go through to the next round.
Second round: The IVDP invite the top scorers to Portugal in Spring/Summer 2022 for a three day visit. At the end of the trip there will be a test and five sommeliers will go through to the next round.
Semi-final and final: The final two rounds will be held in London in the autumn. The semi-final will take place on day 1, and three sommeliers will take part in the final on day 2. The finalists will be judged on service, tasting performance and pairing suggestions, as well as theoretical and technical expertise.
